Date: 2007-02-15 04:29 am (UTC)Season 3 has definitely disappointed in regards to Kara. I'm not remotely interested in soapy love
trianglessquares.I'm glad you enjoyed the action sequences because, honestly, I am never confident editing the ass kicking stuff. But it's that aspect of Kara that attracted me to BSG in the first place so I had to give it a go.
I've friended you back by the way. I think you make great vids and although I don't always comment I always watch and enjoy what you do.

At least pretty much everything else about this season has been pretty strong, but still. I want my badass Starbuck back.

Date: 2007-02-25 08:42 am (UTC)The thing that I love most about this video is the way it captures the personality of both the character and the show. I've never seen a single episode, but after watching this vid I felt like I really knew (and loved) the character.
Also, I'm just digging your smirking lyric ties. Favorites included "don't become the girl who's only turning on the light switch" and "another kind of war raging in your blood stream." Very witty. :)
Loved how your internal motion winked at the guitar solos as well (like with the little dance at 1:16 and the gunfire at 2:51). And drop-dead gorgeous use of crossfades.

I wouldn't normally blow my own trumpet but I do really like my cross-fades in this, I wish I could always get the buggers to work that well.

Date: 2007-08-09 08:04 pm (UTC)I've just seen Txsplash latest BSG vid before this one and it's funny how they kinda have this same light feeling. It's cool to see some of that too :-)
I think it's harder to catch the viewer's attention with vid like this because there's less angst or anything that takes you in, it's harder to "feel" if that makes sense which is why ultimately, this probably won't be my favourite vid of yours.
But stopping the negativity, this vid is still awesomeness ! Your editing is excellent and you really make the vid alive even with a song that isn't that energetic !
Definitely a cool vid to watch :D I loved your use of overlays, I lvoe this section where starbuck runs and it's being intercuts with segments of her everyday life, I love the shots you chose for "bloodstream" around 1:39 (very cute), I love all the shots in space and how you make them flow with the music. Everything is in control in your vids, really, it's impressive. I'm so glad I joined LJ and discovered you and other vidders :)
