Oh I LOVED this. It shows the WTFness of things sometimes (space aerobics! Miniskirts!) but overall it's just an awesome celebration of women in sci-fi and where they've been and where they're going. And like everyone else, I loved that the superman they find is themselves, being all kinds of awesome.

Your sense of motion and music matches so well with mine I feel like I'm dancing in my heart when I watch your vids.

What a wonderful set of clips. I like very much that you have not weighted the clips to focus on very recent shows. It was a delight to recognise the scenes and your choices of wonder, gravity, determination and joy were lovely.

I loved the section of the vid around 'they say a girl must travel far to find a superman' best. That was the centre of the vid for me.
muccamukk: Wanda walking away, surrounded by towering black trees, her red cloak bright. (Marvel: Cheers!)

This was def the most memorable vid of the night at WisCon. I'm so glad it's up.

So glad I followed *everyone's* rec and came to see this vid. I was particularly happy to see the Lost in Space stuff and that final shot of SJ and K9. Bill Mumy was my first tv boyfriend, but I think Dr. Smith and the Robot were my first slash OTP. Thank you, and brava!

My favorite moment has to be the Starbuck thumbs-up-and-then-launch. Yes, I did.

Oh, wow, I love this! I adore the way you've connected all these sources by finding moments of similar action -- shooting, fighting, flying -- and I love the progression over the course of the vid: we see women shrieking at the beginning, but by the end they're so determined and competent under even the most dire circumstances (Sarah Connor! Ripley! Scully!). And as Laura and others have said, I LOVE that they are their own supermen: they are the ones they've been waiting for. That is maybe my favorite part. Well, that and how many shots you've managed to find of women together, not just alone or with men. (Uhura and Chapel! ♥) Um. Possibly I have a lot of favorite parts! But only because THIS VID IS SO AWESOME.

It made me smile, it made me laugh, it made me rage and at the end I wept. For Elizabeth Sladden, my childhood heroine and for the space longing that all the weird outfits and being relegated to damsels and eye candy never killed off and now we have presidents in space. Presidents and fighter pilots and mothers of the revolution. Wonderful vid!

Not sure how to express this ... so many strong, smart women in one place ... also, now that I've seen them all in one place, I'm a little shocked by exactly how many crushes I've had on sci fi women over the years, from Judy Robinson onwards: my heart is all aflutter!

*applauds*

The whole thing was simply wonderful, but I have extra super fizzing delight at seeing Dayna and Cally and Servalan strutting their early 80s stuff. <3

This is really wonderful - I love the historiography of it, and the way the insistence of the song has such a cumulative effect. This was such an interesting song choice, actually. I wouldn't have necessarily found it empowering listening to it alone, I think, but in combination with the clips, it sort of comments on the irony of the way women *got* into space in these media sources back in the day, but is empowering and awesome anyway? I love it.
