External hard drives are cold-hearted bastards this way, I was also able to recover some data back then with recovery software, but maybe five percent and this was so not worth it. At least I got a new drive because it gave out one week before the guarantee would have ended and I still haven’t learned my lesson, my last complete back up on DVD is a year old and on the other hard drive a month. I really should be more throughout to keep the back ups updated. Guess that means I should make one later tonight and I’m really sorry about this, because it’s such a bitch and if you start thinking about the hours lost?
