I've just finished another battle over at [livejournal.com profile] art_battle! Now I'm going to put some serious work into my current vidding project.

The theme this time was Decades
I was battling with [livejournal.com profile] liadan_bran and [livejournal.com profile] whylime

I'm very pleased with all these. Yes I am. :D

When you talk about art battles I keep thinking, 'Xena, the fanart princess.' *gg*
These are great, loved the 50's one.

My favourites are the 60’s and 80’s pieces, but you really had the vibe of every decade down. So I already commented on the Twiggy one, so let’s concentrate on Annie, shall we? *grin* I love your hard geometric forms here, these always remind me of the eighties and Annie is just an icon of that decade, even when my crush for her developed in the 90’s with her ‘Diva’ album. Your colouring is amazing, but your composition knocks me out, your eye for detail is absolutely unbeatable. Your disco queen is also very sexy and I love the humor in the 50’s piece and the texture here is fantastic!

I adore these! I can't even pick a favorite--you nailed every decade, and even though they have this wonderful cohesive sense of design throughout all of them, they're all so distinctly unique. Love 'em. :D

Thanks Astarte :D
Annie's orange haired look is so evocative of the eighties for me. The disco queen looks a bit like a crack whore but I think it captures a feeling of excess that was part of the 70s disco scene. I like the humour in the 50s one the kitschness of the images just called for it.

I'm glad you think they were cohesive. I did want them to look like a set. The 70s one lets the side down a bit on that score but I couldn't find a 70s style texture/pattern that looked pleasing to the eye. Not a terribly stylish decade the 70s lol

Just wandering about. ;)
Just wanted to say that I loooove your graphics (I had noticed your work even before we battled) and I loved our battle. I have a soft spot for your 60's piece, it's my favourite. :)

Hi, Nice of you to stop by. :) I really enjoyed our battle too. It was quick and both you and whylime are very good at what you do! Maybe we could battle again at some point...

The 60's volley has gone down very well with a number of people. Thanks again! :D

These are such great pieces Charmax! I think you captured each decade perfectly. My favorite is the 60's one because I love the layout of it and the geometric shapes.
