I have followed suit and given imeem a go http://charmax.imeem.com/ - it's pretty good! So, so much better than the evil youtube. If you haven't already, maybe you should give it a shot?

Well the whole thing just looks so much more up market than Yeuchtub, your profile is pretty and your network reads like a who;s who in vidding excellence (naturally) ;)

Once I dig my way out of my current pile of things to do I may give it a shot.

I loath youtube for various reasons but I think imeem could be the way to go. The vids look great and all the other options look promising. I need to have a bit more of a dig around to find out what's what but I'm really liking what I see so far.

Get yourself on there when you can!

I had a look at Protege Moi on imeem, and it's by far the sharpest, smoothest vid I've seen on the site.

Mind sharing your process? I've tried uploading mine as xvids (encoded through AutoGK) at 800-pixel width - following absolutedestiny's advice - and they all looked so choppy that I took them down. Tried lowering the file size (from ~100mb to ~30mb), and that didn't seem to help much. Could it be because I'm using NTSC source material? Obsessive24 is also having trouble with her NTSC vids. Argh!

In any case, your vids all look stunning, and it's cool that we can stream them so easily now.

Hi Brad,
I'm just off to bed (2.50am!) but I'll answer your question quickly - I also use AutoGK to convert my uncompressed avis. My "Protege Moi" video is 16MB, 720x400 and 128kbps. My original footage is pal mpeg2 so maybe that's where the difference lies?
You say your vids looked choppy? That's very odd because your Desperado vid looked absolutely fine to me, I added it as one of my favourites. Hmmm I wish I could offer some help but I'm not sure where the problem is...

Thanks so much, Charmax! I'll try re-encoding sometime in the next few days using your bitrate and dimensions as a guide. My original file was ntsc mpeg2, so it's possible that could be the problem. It's reassuring that you didn't see choppiness on your end, at least (and it's incredibly flattering that you added I Feel You to your favorites!) I really appreciate your help.

Completely unrelated aww moment: The kitty in your icon looks an awful lot like mine (http://bradcpu.com/DSCN1284.JPG).

Here's wishing you Supernatural dreams. The good kind, not the kind with blood and monsters.

I wish I could be of more help. I'm not sure if the problem might be to do with interlaced as opposed to progressive footage(most of my original source is progressive). Most of my stuff is encoded at 25fps I don't know if that might be a factor.

The icon is from a portrait of my little cat Buff. Unfortunately he is kind of elderly and so doesn't look nearly as pretty as your beautiful cat.

Best of luck with your technical problems. Lt me know if there is anything I can help you with.
