Here are my 2 Club Vivid vids for Vividcon this year. I have no idea if they were actually shown (yet!) These were both finished in May so I've been sitting on them since then. It's been killing me! Anyone who knows me knows patience is not one of my strongest suits. So finally here we go, YAY! I hope y'all enjoy them. Any and all feedback would be awesome, seriously.

Thank you so much [livejournal.com profile] killabeez for giving me your thoughts on Boogie Wonderland back in May, "Awesome vid!" from you made me incredibly happy and reassured. [livejournal.com profile] astartexx,  massive thanks go to you because, as always, your commentary, squee and insight was/is invaluable! [livejournal.com profile] colour_me_sassy, the feedback then and the feedback every time you give it is cherished. Without going too overboard with the cheez and the embarrassment - I love you all. :P

Boogie Wonderland was inspired by [livejournal.com profile] killabeez's "Puttin On The Ritz" (I'm a hopeless fangirl ;)) but I've moved the focused era on 20yrs or so.

Video Title: Boogie Wonderland
Song Title/Artist: Boogie Wonderland - Earth, Wind and Fire
Movie: Multi
The Rocky Horror Show
Saturday Night Fever
Staying Alive
Roll Bounce
Xanadu
Flashdance
Fame
Boogie Nights
Grease
Footloose
The Full Monty
Car Wash
Can't Stop The Music
Summary: Cracktastic. Glitter, sparkles and gratuitous crotch shots..
Length/Format: 2.21(Xvid)
Notes: Boogie Wonderland was the song I picked out of the list of songs given on the [livejournal.com profile] vividcon LJ. I hope whoever gave it as a prompt thinks I did it justice. The song was edited down and melded with another party type track to give it that extra Disco vibe.
Yes, some crappy movies were purchased for the purpose of this project. That's how much I love vidding. I'm never quite sure if I should do notes or what details you would like to read so if you have any specific questions then please ask in the comments.

Download big Xvid(720x400 - 50MB)
Download small Xvid (480x272 - 22MB)
stream at imeem Low quality.

Video Title: Don't Let Me Be Misundersood
Song Title/Artist: Don't Let Me Be Misundersood - Santa Esmeralda
Movie: Shrek 2 (Puss)
Summary: Puss in Boots wants your understanding.
Length/Format: 2.13(Xvid)
Notes: I have to admit I had forgotten how little screen time Puss gets in Shrek 2 which made the vid a very different sort of challenge from Boogie Wonderland with it's seemingly endless clip choices. Again, as with Boogie Wonderland, if you have any specific questions about this vid please fire away in the comments.

*indignant* I certainly am not! Although I can forsee this "argument" heading into circular territory, so I suggest we end it here. :P

A dynamic duo of dance-ness!

Boogie Wonderland: This is definately my fave of the 2 vids (if someone held a gun to my head & forced me to choose). I love a good multi-fandom vid & this one is just made of awsm! This is the sort of vid I can picture myself dancing to & having a blast just because everyone on screen seems to be doing the same! A definate trip down memory lane with all that source...it was worth it for that alone.

Lots of motion & lots of fun = 1 happy viewer! :)

Dont Let Me Be Misunderstood: This was just too cute (like Puss when he pulls *that* face). I can see how this would have been a real bitch to edit as you say theres not a lot of source to work with in the first place.

But you more than made up for it with great effects - loved the opening sequence & I liked the Green-Shrek glow transitional blurs...highly appropriate. This has got the Charmax touch all over it.

A truly unique vid!

hehehehe, we were transfixed to Puss :D That was great fun, Babes hehehehee!

I think B was a little worried at my squeeing at all the memories brought forth by your clips in Boogie Wonderland. It was a rush. Fantastic fun. Thank you. :D hehehee. Heck, disco in them days was mental. LOL! And I'd forgotten about rollerdisco bwaahhahahahaa

So. Much. LOVE.

I danced like hell to both of these, and I couldn't wait to watch the Shrek one again. Since I've never seen any of the Shrek movies, that's saying something. (: Hooray for ass-kicking cats! Hooray for ass-kicking vidders!

You just have to get to VVC someday. You are adored there, and rightly so.

I'm downloading them, thanks!

I missed Boogie Wonderland entirely at the vidshow, and missed the first half of Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood, so I'm looking forward to seeing them!

I'm not going to make any comment about Roll Bounce except to say the skating is very impressive even if the acting isn't.<./i>

Sounds like Drumline, which has great music :-) (and a plot anyone could write)

And Saturday Night Fever is one of my favorites I'm a Bee Gees fan
30th anniversary this year. I'm oooollllldddd....

Oh it's a shame you missed them on the big screen, hopefully somebody managed to see them! :D It's understandable giving all the frolicking, dancing things going on. I hope you do enjoy when you get a chance.

Thank you Laura! Ass-kicking cats rule the world or at least they will when they evolve opposable thumbs. I've avidly been reading all the reports coming in it sounds like it's been a blast. I'm so very jealous, oh well maybe one day... I don't think I'll ever be sitting with the cool kids, given my social ineptitude but you never know one day you might catch a glimpse of me lurking at the back. *g*

Cheers, Friv. Even you can't be the coolest mom in the world all the time. Rollerdisco managed to simultaneously combine hideous fashion with life threatening sports equipment how could you possibly have forgotten about it!?

Thanks, Mr A. I guess we should both be grateful that nobody is holding a gun to your head. :D It brought back lots of memories when I was making Boogie Wonderland, none of them were the weird acid trip flashback kind, thankfully.

As for Misunderstood I just couldn't resist the transitions after all it's not often you can get away with that sort of thing.

Woah, you mean I was cool at some point!!! Why did no-one tell me *sulks* ;) hehehe! You're always cool XXXx
Wait till your offspring start making demands like; 'mummy can I have a Captain Scarlet video set to The The or some other impossible combo.

I think it may heve been a case of my brain having selective memory on the rollerdisco because I so detested the Gloria Gaynor 'I will survive' thing - oh the trauma from that one. LOL! :P But I luuurrrve the Bee Gees - tee hee!

Fantastic! OMG how I miss Disco. And the 80's. *breaks out Footloose DVD* Would comment in more depth on both, but baby is wailing. Suffice to say, loved them both.

HEE, OMG, SQUEE!

Boogie Wonderland Is so awesome, I love 70's-dancing themed movies, and this was so crack-tastic, in the best way possible. I seriously love it.

Don't let me be misunderstood Awww, I mean, awwwwwww. Puss is the best character of the last two movies, he's just so full of win, so I really really loved this, the vid was awesome.

I love VVC vids, I sort of want to burn a bunch of them on a dvd and have a party here while playing them, but then people won't be dancing, they'll be staring at the screen all 'ooh, pretty!'

I hadn't watched some of the Boogie Wonderland movies in years, it was great fun watching them again.

Puss is just the star of the show from the minute he shows up in Shrek 2. He stole the show to such an extent that I completely overestimated his screen time when it came to making the vid, oh well.

I've loved lots of the Club Vivid vids too. It's amazing what can be created when vidders let their hair down. Such great fun!

Shrek 3 on dvd by the time you made the vid would have helped, I'm sure, but I never felt like you were spreading the source too thin, so you did a great job at using what you had!

Absolutely LOVED Boogie Wonderland! GREAT editing there! Hey, do you mind if I use it as an example at dragoncon? It's such a great example of editing to beat rather than to lyrics.

Thank you so much Mary! I would love it if you showed Boogie Wonderland at darconcon! Cheers for asking me. I have the vid as an .m2v which will be better quality than the web version. Do you want that? How should I get it to you?

I'm glad you thought I did Puss justice. It was a bit difficult to make a 2 minute vid about him because he has so little air time. It was good fun to chart the progress of his and Donkey's relationship though.

Thanks for commenting.

Just to let you know that I watched Boogie Wonderland the other night. Wow! All those glitter balls, big hair and legwarmers. A huge tsunami of nostalgia hit me :) You really captured the essence of the era.

Great job Charmax, a lot of fun and I am glad to say I didn't recognise the rollerskating movie at all - all the others certainly.
