Here are my 2 Club Vivid vids for Vividcon this year. I have no idea if they were actually shown (yet!) These were both finished in May so I've been sitting on them since then. It's been killing me! Anyone who knows me knows patience is not one of my strongest suits. So finally here we go, YAY! I hope y'all enjoy them. Any and all feedback would be awesome, seriously.

Thank you so much [livejournal.com profile] killabeez for giving me your thoughts on Boogie Wonderland back in May, "Awesome vid!" from you made me incredibly happy and reassured. [livejournal.com profile] astartexx,  massive thanks go to you because, as always, your commentary, squee and insight was/is invaluable! [livejournal.com profile] colour_me_sassy, the feedback then and the feedback every time you give it is cherished. Without going too overboard with the cheez and the embarrassment - I love you all. :P

Boogie Wonderland was inspired by [livejournal.com profile] killabeez's "Puttin On The Ritz" (I'm a hopeless fangirl ;)) but I've moved the focused era on 20yrs or so.

Video Title: Boogie Wonderland
Song Title/Artist: Boogie Wonderland - Earth, Wind and Fire
Movie: Multi
The Rocky Horror Show
Saturday Night Fever
Staying Alive
Roll Bounce
Xanadu
Flashdance
Fame
Boogie Nights
Grease
Footloose
The Full Monty
Car Wash
Can't Stop The Music
Summary: Cracktastic. Glitter, sparkles and gratuitous crotch shots..
Length/Format: 2.21(Xvid)
Notes: Boogie Wonderland was the song I picked out of the list of songs given on the [livejournal.com profile] vividcon LJ. I hope whoever gave it as a prompt thinks I did it justice. The song was edited down and melded with another party type track to give it that extra Disco vibe.
Yes, some crappy movies were purchased for the purpose of this project. That's how much I love vidding. I'm never quite sure if I should do notes or what details you would like to read so if you have any specific questions then please ask in the comments.

Download big Xvid(720x400 - 50MB)
Download small Xvid (480x272 - 22MB)
stream at imeem Low quality.

Video Title: Don't Let Me Be Misundersood
Song Title/Artist: Don't Let Me Be Misundersood - Santa Esmeralda
Movie: Shrek 2 (Puss)
Summary: Puss in Boots wants your understanding.
Length/Format: 2.13(Xvid)
Notes: I have to admit I had forgotten how little screen time Puss gets in Shrek 2 which made the vid a very different sort of challenge from Boogie Wonderland with it's seemingly endless clip choices. Again, as with Boogie Wonderland, if you have any specific questions about this vid please fire away in the comments.

Boogie Wonderland : dude, that was so much FUN !!!!! I love disco and the vid is so fun and happy, it gave me the urge to dance even if I'm at work right now.
I loved the used of several source, which, if you don't know the movies, you don't notice at all. You melted everything very successfully. And I also loved that effect in the end with the split screens. really, so much fun !!!

Don't Let Me Be Misundersood: </strong wow. This one is awesome as well !! Your editing is incredible, I'm serious. *love* I love the humor in this one and the horse dancing rotfl !! Really awesome work !

The Charmax touch in Don't Let Me Be Misundersood is obvious. What is the Charmax touch, you ask? It's the ability to give a movie/tv series a magical feeling. You know, a sorta fairytale. And Puss is a fairytale, indeed.

Boogie Wonderland is pure joy. It reminds me of a VH1 80's music video. And I never cease to snicker when I see John Travolta dancing. He's so ridiculous!

Yep, they were at Club Vivid and they were wonderful! I especially liked "Misunderstood" -- what a neat idea for a vid!

I look forward to watching again when I don't have a gajillion dancing bouncing heads between me and the screen. :-)

Just finished another rewatch of 'Misunderstood' - it's a pure delight Charmax and is definitely very 'you'. So fun and action packed - there was so much going on I was ooh and aahing along with Ellie :) I adore the sequence of Puss first apearance around 0.17 to 0.26 and the tapping of paw/foot as the stage rises at 0.52. And the horse at 1.42 LMAO !! I could go on and on....

A Lovely vid and it's going to be a firm favourite here like 'Truckers hat' is too. Back with fb on boogie wonderland later.

Love

Boogie Wonderland -- love the song anyway and the cuts are great (gotta see Roll Bounce, I suppose). Of course, you had me at Saturday Night Fever ;-)

Misunderstood - love this song too and it works for Puss

Great stuff!

I loved all the getting-down in Boogie Wonderland, but I have to say it was Don't Let Me Be Misundersood that really got me. Who was it that was saying how a really good vidder can just rely on cutting alone? ;D Both of these vids demonstrate SO MUCH mastery that it just takes my breath away. I especially loved the Spanish flavour of the song, which is quite appropriate given Antonio Banderas and all, and the green transitions are perfection. You, my dear, are most old-school hardcore and unbelievably good at what you do. Much jealousy and fear!

P.S. back to our regularly scheduled programming, "It's Time To Pick Charmax's Brain!" How did you do the moving layers? Still with the targa sequencing/photoshop as we'd previously discussed? Or have you found a better method these days? :)

A dynamic duo of dance-ness!

Boogie Wonderland: This is definately my fave of the 2 vids (if someone held a gun to my head & forced me to choose). I love a good multi-fandom vid & this one is just made of awsm! This is the sort of vid I can picture myself dancing to & having a blast just because everyone on screen seems to be doing the same! A definate trip down memory lane with all that source...it was worth it for that alone.

Lots of motion & lots of fun = 1 happy viewer! :)

Dont Let Me Be Misunderstood: This was just too cute (like Puss when he pulls *that* face). I can see how this would have been a real bitch to edit as you say theres not a lot of source to work with in the first place.

But you more than made up for it with great effects - loved the opening sequence & I liked the Green-Shrek glow transitional blurs...highly appropriate. This has got the Charmax touch all over it.

A truly unique vid!

hehehehe, we were transfixed to Puss :D That was great fun, Babes hehehehee!

I think B was a little worried at my squeeing at all the memories brought forth by your clips in Boogie Wonderland. It was a rush. Fantastic fun. Thank you. :D hehehee. Heck, disco in them days was mental. LOL! And I'd forgotten about rollerdisco bwaahhahahahaa

So. Much. LOVE.

I danced like hell to both of these, and I couldn't wait to watch the Shrek one again. Since I've never seen any of the Shrek movies, that's saying something. (: Hooray for ass-kicking cats! Hooray for ass-kicking vidders!

You just have to get to VVC someday. You are adored there, and rightly so.

I'm downloading them, thanks!

I missed Boogie Wonderland entirely at the vidshow, and missed the first half of Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood, so I'm looking forward to seeing them!

Fantastic! OMG how I miss Disco. And the 80's. *breaks out Footloose DVD* Would comment in more depth on both, but baby is wailing. Suffice to say, loved them both.

HEE, OMG, SQUEE!

Boogie Wonderland Is so awesome, I love 70's-dancing themed movies, and this was so crack-tastic, in the best way possible. I seriously love it.

Don't let me be misunderstood Awww, I mean, awwwwwww. Puss is the best character of the last two movies, he's just so full of win, so I really really loved this, the vid was awesome.

I love VVC vids, I sort of want to burn a bunch of them on a dvd and have a party here while playing them, but then people won't be dancing, they'll be staring at the screen all 'ooh, pretty!'

Absolutely LOVED Boogie Wonderland! GREAT editing there! Hey, do you mind if I use it as an example at dragoncon? It's such a great example of editing to beat rather than to lyrics.

It's ridiculously sad to admit that I haven't seen either Shrek movie yet, but I still couldn't resist downloading Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood -- seriously, how many vids featuring kitties are out there? There should be more (my two cats agree). Such a beautifully cut vid, and Puss in Boots can have my understanding anytime. I love how you build up to his arrival with the shots of mystery/intrigue and then *boom*, there he is! His arrival is my favorite part...the pacing there is perfect and he's utterly adorable. Um, fierce, I mean :)

I'm sorry, I know it's been said a million times, but "Boogie Wonderland" is such a fun video. The editing is so clean, maybe it just happens to me, but sometimes it seems like one movie that was edited, it all blended so well. My only complaint is that it's not an hour long, I can watch that video all day.
