So, my computer has been failing for about 6 months now but over the last 2, things have been dire. I am limping to the finish line with my second Club Vivid vid and then with help from the bank of mom and dad (Max's) I am getting this The Dell XPS 630. It's an awesome monster of a machine! I shall have it in about 2 weeks.

Ooh, we'll be computer twins! I've got the XPS 710, which is 4 x 2.8Ghz processors and 4 x 1GB RAM. It rocks my world, though I am yet to vid on it, which will be the ultimate test :o)

Oh awesome! Is your's new? I was looking at the XPS 720 because they don't have the 710 on the Dell site anymore but I've pretty much settled on the 630, I think.

I'm no expert in computers, but I have the feeling that Dor, the computer super geek, will go insane just reading this. The only thing I did understand was Hard Drive 640 GB, which made my eyes grow very big. Just that makes me green with jealousy (you really don't want to know how much GB is my hard drive)! It sounds perfect for vidding. Hee enjoy your new computer when you get it!!! :D

It's fairly new. Hubby bought it about August last year, then decided he hated PC's with the fiery passion of a thousand suns, and got a ProMac instead (8 x 2.8Ghz processors and 6GB of RAM for goodness sake). So I got the 710 for myself. I've had it about a month, maybe 6 weeks so I've mainly been taken up with re-loading all my stuff. The box is so huge it doesn't fit in or on my desk, it has to sit beside me, but it's so much quieter than my old Dimension 8300. The 630 looks great - really well specced. I bet it'll vid like an absolute dream!

I have 3 external drives as well and those add up to about 1TB... and then the 640GB on top. So much space! \0/

Good good. Yep it was summer here last week and now it's like autumn again.

I'm very lucky to have the new comp, it's only with thanks to the in-laws. I'd have to use the library one otherwise.
