Notes: This was one of my most popular videos when I made it back in 2003. Even when I took it down I would still get the occasional request for it and so I decided it would be one of a few of my early vids that I would remaster. astartexx you were my main drive on this. You own me, you know that.

I have been able to use some of the things I have learned since making the original. I have therefore tightened up the timing and played more with the colours. I have also been able to use footage that wasn’t available then. I realised quite quickly that most of the last season of AtS would be unusable because as it turns out vampires might not age but actors do. I did use the historical scenes from the later episodes because I figured that people would be so distracted by the dead weasels on Spike and Angel’s heads that they wouldn’t notice.

This remastered version has a number of new clips and the ending has been completely reworked. The main difference between this and the original is in the output quality. It is now much prettier.

I never saw the original, but I loved this! Liked the noise effect - I've never been able to get that to work very well. Also really enjoyed how you managed to scene-match so many instances where Spike and Angel weren't really together without it looking contrived. Really nice job.

hee I really like this vid Charmax :)
I haven't seen the original, so I can't comment on how much you have improved it, but it was really well done.

I love noise filter ^_^ And you used it well to get that nostalgic thing going.

The scenes were nicely matched together, like the after-sex scene, Spike in the alley/being bitten, and the Angel/Faith and Spike/Buffy comparisons.

I like the nifty blips at 3.11 :)
And the morphing at the end looks very cool.

I hadn't seen this one before, either! Very hot stuff. I like the grainy look a lot, and there were some moments in this where the "created reality" was absolutely convincing, and I caught myself holding my breath. The bit where they're both shirtless was particularly-- yum.

You know, it's funny, but the aging of the actors doesn't bother me. I think I'd blip right over that -- unless you tried to use them for scene matching, or something. But I do know what you mean. I find it very hard to vid with first season Duncan in Highlander, because of the hair extensions. It's funny that such a small thing should throw me off, but it really bugs me.

Just funny what pings us visually, I guess.

Oh man, I have no time to feed back properly as this so deserves, but just had to pop in and say I loved it, the AU scenes are carried off so convincingly and I too just love the noise filter. And it's so glowy! How did you make it so glowy? Oh, and the clip of William on the couch going to Joyce and Spike on the couch. Brilliant! Oh, and LOVED the stills on those bleeps, and the very end with the closing in on the eye! Awesome stuff.

Aww man, you got rid of the sex scene!
But this one is more subtle and more coherent, which makes it better. A lovely and hilarious look at one of the most entertaining pairings.

Thanks little heaven. I'm glad you liked it. The noise in the original version was shocking but in this version I actually got it to work pretty much how I had envisaged it. I'm glad you didn't think it looked contrived I know it can be difficult when you know the source well and have to try to see it in a different context.

That's how I judge the AU vids I watch - when they make me forget about trying to place the source footage and just accept them as what they are showing me :o) I think Aimee's Tourniquet and Astarte's Haunted were the first that ever did that for me, now I can add this one!

I know what you mean about time. I am way behind in feedback and general catching up with people's vids. there just aren't enough hours in the day!

The noise also helps hide some rough edges in the flashbacks so I'm glad it worked as part of the mood of the vid too. The glowy thing was mostly done by playing with the lighting filter that comes with the new premiere.

I don't believe there was a sex scene in the original perhaps you imagined it. Trust me nothing as vital as that would have been taken out!!

Aimee and Astarte are great at the constructed reality stuff. Aimee's "Resurrection" and Astarte's Angel/Wes vid are also really convincing.

You remastered it! It looks wonderful and prettier indeed. This is the only Angel/Spike vid that doesn't make giggle about how silly it is - it's actually very sad. hmm anyway, always been a good video ;).
