Video Title: Your Woman (REMASTERED)
Song Title/Artist: Your Woman – White Town
Show: BtVs/AtS
Genre: AU, Slash
Summary: My original description for this back in 03 was
Spike kidnaps Angel to find out why he never loved him. This vid is like the bastard son of “The picture of Dorian Gray” and “Reservoir dogs”This remastered version still remains true to that as a concept...
Length/Format: 4.11, (Xvid)
Please do not upload to Youtube or MySpace Thanks!
Download Xvid (640x480 – 34.3MB.)
Notes: This was one of my most popular videos when I made it back in 2003. Even when I took it down I would still get the occasional request for it and so I decided it would be one of a few of my early vids that I would remaster.

I have been able to use some of the things I have learned since making the original. I have therefore tightened up the timing and played more with the colours. I have also been able to use footage that wasn’t available then. I realised quite quickly that most of the last season of AtS would be unusable because as it turns out vampires might not age but actors do. I did use the historical scenes from the later episodes because I figured that people would be so distracted by the dead weasels on Spike and Angel’s heads that they wouldn’t notice.
This remastered version has a number of new clips and the ending has been completely reworked. The main difference between this and the original is in the output quality. It is now much prettier.
Feedback much appreciated.

Date: 2006-06-19 11:22 pm (UTC)Too awesome.
Loved how you put the scene together.
Now don't you dare try to tell me they were never a couple. I won't believe you :P

Date: 2006-06-20 07:04 am (UTC)They were sooo a couple. When the fanged four took a break from killing people I am pretty sure they weren't playing bridge.

Date: 2006-06-19 11:25 pm (UTC)I haven't seen the original, so I can't comment on how much you have improved it, but it was really well done.
I love noise filter ^_^ And you used it well to get that nostalgic thing going.
The scenes were nicely matched together, like the after-sex scene, Spike in the alley/being bitten, and the Angel/Faith and Spike/Buffy comparisons.
I like the nifty blips at 3.11 :)
And the morphing at the end looks very cool.

Date: 2006-06-20 07:08 am (UTC)I'm glad you felt the noise carried the mood. I wish I could claim credit for the morph but I only tweaked what was already there.

Date: 2006-06-19 11:43 pm (UTC)You know, it's funny, but the aging of the actors doesn't bother me. I think I'd blip right over that -- unless you tried to use them for scene matching, or something. But I do know what you mean. I find it very hard to vid with first season Duncan in Highlander, because of the hair extensions. It's funny that such a small thing should throw me off, but it really bugs me.
Just funny what pings us visually, I guess.

Date: 2006-06-20 07:17 am (UTC)I didn't think the changes in the actors would bug me either until I put one scene from the last season next to an early one *ouch sore thumb*

Date: 2006-06-20 07:28 am (UTC)I know what you mean about time. I am way behind in feedback and general catching up with people's vids. there just aren't enough hours in the day!
The noise also helps hide some rough edges in the flashbacks so I'm glad it worked as part of the mood of the vid too. The glowy thing was mostly done by playing with the lighting filter that comes with the new premiere.

Date: 2006-06-20 10:17 am (UTC)Loved the noise filter and the colourisation on the back in the day scenes. A very convincing AU vid Charmax, and really quite sad too.

Date: 2006-06-23 02:48 am (UTC):03-:16 - Nice "aged" effect on the flashback source.
:48-:56 - Excellent interplay of clips and great matching.
1:20-1:30 - Great interplay of clips again.
1:30 - Beautiful transition and use of Joyce.
2:28-3:05 - Amazing reimagination of Spike's siring.
3:14-3:22 - Very cool having Angel in white beat a black bag and Spike in black beat a white bag.
3:20's - Lovely orangish Angel and Faith clip.
3:32-4:08 - Once again, very awesome use of source we've seen a thousand times in a new and amazing way to tell a story.

Date: 2006-06-24 07:17 am (UTC)The Joyce part is one of my favourite parts of the vid. I always loved the Spike and Joyce scenes in the show.
It is increasingly hard to do something in BtVs or AtS that people haven't already seen. I keep trying to think of things though because I still love the show.

Date: 2006-09-11 04:53 pm (UTC)I'm pleased you felt it was a bit different from other spangel vids. It is quite difficult to come up with something original for this pairing.
Thanks once again for commenting.

Date: 2007-06-26 01:32 pm (UTC)Hello. I've tried downloading this particular vid of your's twice and each time I tried to unzip it, it doesn't unzip all the way and it's making me very curious if it's my Mac or something that gone wrong with the file (though that can't be since other people must've downloaded it fine since you posted it).
Just scratching my head over here...

Date: 2007-06-28 01:04 pm (UTC)I'm really not sure what the problem is, as you say others have downloaded and unzipped the vid okay and I have myself re-checked the file and it's all fine. The only thing I can suggest is to try again? Maybe using another extractor? I don't use a Mac myself so I don't know what there is out there but I'm sure if you Google you'll come up with something.
