Con dvds rock

My Escapade dvd arrived this morning and I've already watched all the vids. Yay! :D I finally got to see Killa's "Miracles" vid which was fantastic, of course and Nicky's "Change" looked awesome on a bigger screen - very pro. Morgan Dawn, Killa & Milly's Supernatural videos all stood out for me as did Laura Shapiro's "All the lonely people" and P.R Zeds "Life on Mars". Great job everyone! Can't wait for next year.

That's really neat to have them on a DVD. Does one have to attend a con to get a DVD of the videos?

I think to get the dvd you have to participate either by attending the con or submitting a video to be shown at the vidshow. Because I don't live in the US it was the second option I went for. :)

So jealous of you Escapade DVD people! I wanted to submit, I really did. I just got all distracted by the endgame of Living Dead Girl, and when the vid was done submissions were closed. Awful timing.

Now I'm sitting here with no charmax vids to watch on the big screen... Wait a sec - maybe I'll watch the BAScon set again. :)

It's a shame the timing was a little off because "living Dead Girl" would have looked fantastic on the big screen. Maybe you'll be able to show it as a "nearly new" at either Vividcon or one of the other cons?

It's strange it's taking so long to get to you... I'm surprised we got it over here first, the UK postal service is not usually so good. I sent something to Germany once and it took 2 months! Anyway, it can't be long now. All the vids look great. :D

Canada Post is truly dire. I've sent something across the city and had it take ten days. On the other hand, I once sent a DVD to Poland and it took 3 days. Go Polish mail.

Isn't it a great DVD? I just got mine as well and many an hour are spent google-eyed over "Mainstream".

Speaking of Change, did you notice any jerkiness/audio-video sync issues? On my end it's quite noticeable. I think it's because of the PAL>>NTSC conversion, but then again, yours looked perfect. Please tell me you used NTSC source, otherwise I'm just an idiot, aren't I?

I love the dvd, I'll be watching it tons.

As far as I can see there is nothing glaringly obvious up with "Change". Nothing seemed wrong to me. If it's subtle it might be one of those things that only you would notice because you will know every frame of your own vid. Certainly, there is no jerkiness and it seems to hit all the right points in terms of audio sync.

I used PAL footage and converted to NTSC for "Mainstream" I almost never edit in NTSC. Whatever method you used for yours, it looks fine to me.

As far as I can tell "Change" was one of the highlights of the con. I've never seen anyone mention any jerkiness and won't our copies be from the master they used at Escapade?

Oh, I definitely don't think it's a problem in the master>>DVD transfer. If there are problems, it's definitely coming from my end. You're probably right, it's just me who's noticing this. Ack.

One of the Torchwood vids did make my dvd stutter briefly but it got past that. Hmmm.
