Video Title: One Way Or Another (REMASTERED)
Song Title/Artist: One Way Or Another - Blondie
Show: Veronica Mars
Summary:
This is an episodic video to the episode 'Clash of the tritons'. 'One Way or Another' the song by Blondie is lip synched with Veronica's karaoke version.
Length/Format: 3.25, (WMV, Xvid)
Notes:
I am still on my remastering spree, wheee! (As well as working on my sweet charity vid of course) The main difference between this and the old version is DVD source. Yay. I've also put in a couple of extra clips, chopped the rhythm up a little more, refined the titles and added a touch more external motion. Shiny.

Episodic videos can be quite tricky to edit because clip choice is quite limited and there aren't the sweeping camera shots or epic panoramic views of a movie. So, with what was available to me I think it works. I am happy anyway. :)

Please do not upload to Youtube or MySpace Thanks!

This video has been retired.

Feedback is great.

Heh! You remastered the 'cute' vid of yours, well at least it was labeled that way in my head and for once it evens resembles the original one... slightly! *teehee*

The DVD footage really makes especially the bar scenes clearer and of course you still captured the pure sassy girl power Veronica radiates mostly in the show. That part is sadly often ignored in vids, which makes this one so much fun to watch on repeat!

Cute is good. :D And so is sassy. That's my Veronica!

and for once it evens resembles the original one... slightly! *teehee*
Hmmm slightly? Is that a compliment or what? Don't answer that. lol

Thanks Astarte.

Not exactly a nah-sayer of your remastering spree, am I? So I'm pretty sure, you know on what this comment was based, besides DVD footage makes me itchy at the moment, I ache for it on my current project. You know where you flip shit without the WB symbol making it obvious so you have to mask it out and then you go crazy and start masking shit for the pure joy of manipulating footage any way you want and suddenly you don't like the way the light breaks on Sam's face so you make it dark and soft and ambigious and then you run into your next WB symbol and you start crying... Actually no, the last part was made up! But you get the gist of this... Dean is pretty enough to not mask shit, so I'm happy the vid is mostly about him! *maniac grin*

And the point was, your Veronica all sassy, cute and cool is very, very good shit and SHINY with the DVD footage and all and I appreciate this on a level which is not healthy! *goes off to mask some more in her white jacket*

Hmmm, why does the word spree always make me think sniper rifles and postal workers?

I know what you mean about tv source. The main reason I've been remastering lately is because I'm waiting for DVDs for House, Supernatural, Veronica Mars, BSG so I can make the vids that have been eating my brain for months. I especially hate the WB and Sci-fi, their icons are huge and then they run friggin' what's up next ads all through it. arggh. With those stupid icons you can't flip or zoom without it becoming a bit of an issue.

I love the image of you trying to mask in a straight-jacket using your teeth and emphatic head movements! lol

Oh and are you watching that new show "Eureka"? If not you should.

I would think about shopping spree, you know getting new and shiny things instead of the same old and beloved, because you wore them down and now you see that the seam won’t hold any longer and the button on top is missing, because of the one hot incident at – But that’s my inner optimist… *wide grin*

Really, the logo gets in the way of so many cool things like smooth zooms and especially flipping – it’s so fucking obvious when you manipulate shit. At least you think your audience will notice it in that 15 frame overlay – right there. So yeah, you can make it go away, if there is no movement at that spot, but it’s amateur work and an annoying way to spend two minutes. It’s possible that I start over once I get my hands on the DVDs, actually that depends on my nerve wreck till then and anyway, I will need your opinion on my approach of things in both cases, because I’m not sure, if I’m currently going in the right direction and if I do, well, then this whole start over thing is a done deal.

Don’t you love it when inspiration hits you after you worked for three days straight on a vid, your blood-shot eyes look at the screen and your whole vid turns over before your mind’s eye? Yeah, the straight-jacket thing is also helpful with not banging your head on hard surfaces till you lose consciousness – sadly!

Eureka? Did read one bad review, but I’m gonna check it out now… Besides Sugar Rush is waiting patiently on my hard drive, so is a fanfic that needs four more sex scenes and it’s not like they get written by themselves and that I need to work on this vid NOW!

*goes off to the dungeon and plays by herself with the white foam coming out of her mouth*

So you think shopping spree and I think killing spree You say tom-ay-to, I say tom-ar-to (well tomate strictly speaking) still it makes me wonder if there isn't room in that padded cell for me.

So your fanfic won't write itself but apparently your vid has a mind of it's own!! Seriously, I do know what you mean and I would definitely go with the way it tells you.

Eureka is a lot of fun. Kind of like "the 4400" only with more laughs and more crazy inventions.

I will be glad to check out your vid. *fingerscrossed behind back* Actually I'm sure I will be able to overcome my supernatural burnout for you.

There’s always room for you in my padded cell, love, you know that by heart, don’t you?

Yeah, see the two paths-metaphor always has it catch and this time it would be WORK – I mean LIKE working my cute ass off to get where I want to be and this is something I need reassurance for, because one road leads straight to hell and the other to a mediocre or good action vid. But it’s Dean so yeah, hell looks like a lovely place to spend some time with him.

Eureka is on my watch list now, because I can’t hardly resist the funny… Especially not now!

The original of this vid was the first Veronica Mars vid I ever watched - I watched it before I even started watching the show. It kind of swayed me towards checking it out.

Still love it :D

Oh I didn't know that Steph. Cool! Actually, I think the original version of this vid was the first fan vid for Veronica Mars... I got in there very quick. lol

Glad you still love it.

You know, your vids have gotten me into several shows. I watched a lot of your Buffy and Angel vids back before I watched the show (loved them), Alias, Veronica Mars, and I've decided to give Xena a try (though I've only seen the first episode so far), Life On Mars, and... I watched Equilibrium because of your vid.

And I downloaded season 1 of Deadwood because of your vid (I haven't watched it yet though).

So... thank you.

I thought you started making Buffy/Angel vids around the same time as me?? Did I not see you around on nummytreat? weird. I could have sworn you were making them around the same time or if not before. Well!

And it's a huge compliment to hear that my vids got you into those other shows too. I'm sure you will absolutely love Deadwood, I think the wit in it is right up your street. :D

You started vidding for Buffy and Angel back in 2003 and that, right? I didn't start making Buffy and Angel vids until late November of 2004.

I watched so many Buffy and Angel vids before that. I started watching Buffy and Angel in November or late October of 2004 after a friend just told me to watch it (I watched a bunch of vids and asked her what was going on in certain scenes).

What is your next remastering project? :D

This one was mostly remastered to use DVD footage and to get the aspect ratio right this time. Aspect ratio issues grr.

Next up is possibly Tears and Rain(Logan) or Candleburn (Firefly) but I'm liable to change my mind without notice.

I really want to see this but my comuter is being an asshat and won't let me. Could you possibly upload it onto You-Tube or another video sharing site?

Never mind. I got it to work!

Great episodic vid! I totally loved it and it was so clear... which more than I can say for my vids lol. This was amazing how you were able to get Veronica lips in synch with Blondies voice. That must of taken some time. Can't wait to see more!

Glad you got it to work!

I'm also glad that you liked the video. The lip synching was definitely the hardest part of the vid even though they are singing the same song.

That's strange, maybe my site is being temperamental... You might want to try again later?

I really don't want to upload it to youtube as it's a site I dislike greatly. And I really am reluctant to upload it to a free server as well because that is what my domain is there for and I pay a considerable amount of money to keep it going. Sorry.

I watched VM intermittently, and this was an episode that I haven't seen, so I hummed and hahhed for a while, but then felt really guilty because you are always such a dear when it comes to feedbacking my vids, and some shallow tech-oriented feedback really is better than no feedback at all. So.

This is such a fun vid! The lip synching was done extremely well, and I'm super impressed by your clip choices, especially given the limited nature of an episodic.

Goodness, VM camerawork really moves, doesn't it? Even though I've seen a lot of VM vids, that fact never really struck me until I saw this. I loved the way you employed all those smooth, quick swoops and push/pulls, and the way you added some external stuff in a way that looks natural to the source.

1:16 - love the lyric match to "I'll get ya, I'll get ya", and then I loved how the light flashed on the beat at 1:21.

I got so caught up in the second half that I totally forgot to view it with my vidder glasses, which I think says a lot about the naturalness and flow of the editing. The quick intercutting toward the ending really worked for me as well.

Excellent vid! I'm sorry for not having more to say regarding context and whatnot. How about remastering another one in a fandom I know next time, eh? ;)

You know me I'll take whatever feedback I can get techy or otherwise.

I'm glad it was fun to watch even if you aren't a fan of the show. It really is just meant to be a bit of fun showing a non-angsty side of the show which really is a lot more fun than most vids would have you believe.

I have *you* to thank for my newest obsession with this show! Just got caught up on season 2 and wouldn't you know it, I come here to find you've just remastered this vid. Yay for me! I never saw the original (didn't want to spoil anything since I knew I'd get around to watching the show eventually), but this version was awesome as usual! Very fun editing. And is it cheesy that I just adore your opening and closing credits? heh

Now, I'm off to watch your Mac and Logan vids! *bounce*

Thanks Melissa.

I'm so glad you liked the video and that you've got hooked on Veronica Mars. It's a good job you weren't spoiled as that can be really annoying. The credits were quite fun to do. I like the challenge of figuring out a way things can be done.

I must also thank you for your kind feedback on Bronze Ambition for Tears and Rain. That is also on my remaster list so look out for a pretty widescreen version coming soon.

I ofcourse love the original version but you've done a great job on the remaster hon. Perfect timing through out and you've managed to make an episodic not look like an episodic! which I consider an amazing :D
