They may be clichés, but they're really hot clichés, at least the way you used them! I have rarely seen such a perfectly cut video though I should have expected it from you, considering your other ones. I sat there alternating between "Oh, that's brilliant!" and "Ooh! That's hot!" I may now have to watch all the shows/films I haven't already, just to chase down all the hot scenes. :-)

oh. my god. this makes me just, so happy, deep down in my soul. seriously, you have no idea how long I've been waiting for a vid like this, and because it was you doing it, it more than exceeded my expectations. Oh! you reawakened my childhood Julie Andrews crush, and reminded me of how hot Janeway was in drag, and, and. It's so gorgeous, and some of the bait-and-switch cliches are amazingly done - I particularly love the shift from Willow writing on Tara to Gabrielle (was it Gabrielle?) writing on Xena. Honestly, my heart just swelled up a half dozen sizes. I am going to go and watch this over and over, because I just get happier with every viewing.

Oh, and the literalism is, in fact, spectacular. :) Thelma and Louise to "If you want a partner, take my hand"? AWESOME.

This comment makes me oh so happy. I had a huge crush on Julie Andrews too, mostly as Maria though. Also Janeway channelling Bogart is way hot. It is indeed Gabrielle writing on Xena. I've always been struck by the similarities of those two scenes even the colours are the same. It's great to have made a vid that connected so deeply.

I didn't want any one show to dominate the vid but some shows did keep creeping in and Xena was definitely one of them. The L Word had to have a role albeit a small one. There was just so much source, trying to fit everything in was quite tricky. I LOVE LISA in Girl, Interrupted she just had to be in there. So glad it worked for you.

Oh, this is so marvellously fabulously wonderful! I am having a day of mild stress and this just made everything shiny. YAY vid of queer female media history (the good parts) and, well, YAY LESBIANZ. I want to teach a class on queer media representation and appropriation and show this vid (apparently I relate to things via imaginary students, it'll be a while if ever before I have the chance to teach such a class!)


I loved... well, everything in fact, but especially the way you brought old and new footage together, the opening haircuts, the Buffy/Faith and Starbuck/Kat and Thelma and Louise and Greta Garbo and the delightful dyke cliches of Tipping the Velvet and and and... Well, all of it. You bring so much source together with such flair and skill and *joy* -- I am exceptionally glad that this vid exists, and it's already earned a permanent place on my ipod. :)
